Galatians 5:19 lists the works of the flesh—sinful behaviors that the Bible warns Christians to avoid, as they lead to spiritual death. Among these is witchcraft. Many people are offended or even ashamed at the idea of being associated with witchcraft because it is widely recognized as evil. Yet, Scripture is clear: anything that aligns with rebellion against God or seeks power apart from Him falls into this category.
The shocking truth, however, is that many Christians are unknowingly practicing or coming under the influence of witchcraft.
Witchcraft isn’t limited to drinking blood or casting spells.
At its core, it is any attempt to manipulate, control, or rebel against God’s authority. According to 1 Samuel 15:23, “rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft.”
This means when a person operates in manipulation, domination, or control, especially in spiritual or relational settings, they are walking in the spirit of witchcraft—whether they realize it or not.
So, what is witchcraft anyway?
Witchcraft is the act of controlling or manipulating the emotions, thoughts, or will of another person—often for personal gain.
It doesn’t always look like spells and rituals. In fact, it is subtly encouraged in many areas of life, including relationships, workplaces, and even churches. It can take the form of guilt-tripping, emotional blackmail, intimidation, or twisting words to influence someone’s decisions.
The danger lies in how normalized it has become—so much so that people can practice it unknowingly.
Witchcraft is also subtly woven into **worldly movies, music, books, cartoons, yoga, and unbiblical forms of meditation, along with horoscopes and palm reading, just to name a few. Leviticus 19:31 warns, “Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them.”
These are not harmless forms of entertainment or self-care—they are channels of spiritual control, conditioning people to follow the will of Satan.
They serve as entry points the enemy uses to access your eye gate, ear gate, and ultimately, your spirit man.
The goal is clear: to reshape your belief system, dull your sensitivity to God’s truth, and ultimately lead you away from Him—into destruction.
It really is that simple.
Yoga is extremely popular—especially in places like the United States—and many Christians see nothing wrong with participating in it. But what many don’t realize is that yoga is rooted in Hinduism, a form of pagan worship. Every posture and movement in traditional yoga was originally designed as an act of devotion to Hindu gods, which the Bible clearly identifies as false and demonic (1 Corinthians 10:20).
When Christians engage in these postures and meditate in unbiblical ways, they are unknowingly opening themselves up to spiritual influence that is not from God. This is the truth, and it’s time for believers to wake up and recognize how dangerously comfortable we’ve become with what God calls sin.
There is no ill intent here, dear fellow Christians. My only hope is to awaken hearts to the enemy’s subtle strategies—his efforts to normalize sin and manipulate believers. These tactics are meant to steal the victory we have in Jesus Christ and dull our sensitivity to His truth.
Let us stay alert, anchored in the Word, and uncompromising in our devotion to Him.
Know what the Bible says on all aspects of life and fashion your life according to its direction. The Holy Spirit is always near to those who sincerely seek the truth, guiding them into all understanding (John 16:13).
Let your life be a testimony to the power of God’s Word and remain steadfast in seeking His truth at all times.
Ephesians 5:11 admonishes us to have nothing to do with even the appearance darkness.
John 10: 10 Satan comes for no other reason except to bring you under his influence so as to kill, steal and destroy.
Proverbs 4: 23 protect your heart from anything that is not the Holy spirit or Holy spirit inspired.
